April 10, 2014 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - The all-new 2015 Chrysler 200 and 2014 Jeep Cherokee have been named two of Ward’s 10 Best Interiors for 2014, compiled by WardsAuto.

“To once again be recognized by Ward’s Auto for their ‘10 Best Auto Interiors’ demonstrates Chrysler Group’s commitment to deliver premium materials, unique features and exquisite style to each of our brand’s specific consumer,” said Ralph Gilles – Senior Vice President – Product Design, Chrysler Group LLC. “While the interiors of the Chrysler 200 and the Jeep Cherokee are in contrast to each other both offer innovation and clever details that meet the needs of their respective consumer.”

With a goal of achieving the ultimate driving experience, the Chrysler Group design teams used creation, personal inspiration and attention-to-detail to create the Chrysler 200 and Jeep Cherokee interiors.

“While created with two different customers in mind using different themes, our teams did use the same key principles to design the all-new interiors of new Chrysler 200 and Jeep Cherokee,” said Klaus Busse – Head of Interior Design, Chrysler Group LLC. “Our interior designers conceived both vehicles by first establishing an emotional design impact for both vehicles, and then used high-quality materials including state-of-the-art technology along with developing clever storage features that use the new interior space wisely. Both vehicles clearly express these principles, and we’re extremely proud that Ward’s has recognized both new interior designs.”

Eight WardsAuto editors spent two months evaluating 41 vehicles during their routine commutes in and around metro Detroit and submitted score sheets ranking the entries on features such as ergonomics, driver information, fit-and-finish, materials, value, safety, comfort and design harmony.

“Designers paid extraordinary attention to detail in the new Chrysler 200C interior design and it shows. Specially engineered wood veneer sweeps across the instrument panel and has a wonderful natural feel,” said Drew Winter – Editor-in-Chief, WardsAuto World magazine. “After this year’s brutal winter, the judges developed a real soft spot for the new Jeep Cherokee Limited. Its interior is roomy, comfortable, and boldly styled with highly sculpted shapes and contrasting colors. Fold-flat rear seats add lots of utility and the Uconnect system is the best in the business.”

2015 Chrysler 200 Interior
The interior of the all-new 2015 Chrysler 200 has a “wow” factor. It’s a striking appearance, one of contemporary luxury but with graceful movement. Hand-sculpted, fluid shapes and clean, expressive surfaces are found throughout the cabin. The fluid shapes carry from the instrument panel around to the door panels. The available open-pore wood trim was designed to visually “hold” the instrument panel in place.

The well-crafted components in the interior of the 2015 200 deliver world-class levels of fit and finish for drivers and passengers alike. Furniture-like mechanisms, such as the sliding cup holders in the innovative center console are sturdy and operate smoothly.

The centerpiece of the new 200’s interior is the innovative center console. The contemporary design is pleasing to look at while offering clever functionality that is enabled by full electronic gear shifting with a rotary shift knob. This leading-edge technology doesn’t need the mechanical linkage of traditional shifters that take up space in the center of the vehicle, enabling Chrysler designers to fully utilize the space. A pass-through storage area at the front of the console is accessible by both the driver and front-seat passenger. A thoughtful opening at the rear of the pass-through storage area allows for wires and cables to directly connect to the power supply and media center located in the center console.

2014 Jeep Cherokee Interior
The inspiration for the new 2014 Jeep Cherokee interior included exotic locations and terrain around the world that brought beautiful imagery to mind – Morocco at night, Mt. Vesuvius in Italy and the Grand Canyon.

The Cherokee interior is a sophisticated blend of hand-sculpted fluid shapes, high-quality materials, innovative color and material choices, precision craftsmanship, state-of-the-art technology and thoughtful, clever features. It is inviting and comfortable.

The all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee stays true to the Jeep brand with design cues from the brand’s heritage. The signature trapezoidal plan view feature line is classic Jeep, reminiscent of the trapezoidal wheel arches on the exterior. The center stack bezel is inspired by the outline of the front grille of the 1940s Willys Jeep and continues the design language of its larger sibling, the Grand Cherokee.

The winners of Ward’s 10 Best Interiors 2014 will be honored on Thursday, May 21 at theWardsAuto Interiors Conference in Dearborn, Mich.

Jeep and Mopar used production and prototype Jeep Performance Parts on this year’s collection of concept vehicles. Jeep Performance Parts are specifically designed, built and quality-tested to meet strict Jeep specifications, 4×4 capability, craftsmanship and versatility to help transform production Jeep vehicles into even more extreme trail performers.

“This year, we’re showcasing a combination of Mopar and Jeep Performance Parts on our vehicles for off-road enthusiasts to see a variety of customization and personalization options,” said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO — Mopar, Chrysler Group LLC’s service, parts and customer-care brand. “Since 2002, Jeep and Mopar have teamed to create more than 40 unique concept vehicles for enthusiasts who attend the popular Easter Jeep Safari.”

Jeep Wrangler Level Red
The Wrangler Level Red, which refers to the highest level of difficulty an off-road trail can be designated, comes well-equipped to handle challenging off-road terrain, riding high on a Jeep Performance Parts 2-inch lift kit. Jeep Performance Parts Dana 44 crate axles on the front and rear feature a 4:10 ratio. The Jeep Performance Parts Rock-Trac transfer case provides a 4:1 low range to make navigating obstacles much easier. The 3.6-liter engine with a six-speed manual transmission is improved through a cold-air intake and low-restriction exhaust system. Wrangler Level Red’s crawl ratio is 73:1.

The sleek Pitch Black exterior of Wrangler Level Red is decorated by a TorRed prototype graphic stripe that runs along the top of the hood near the bottom of the windshield and halfway down the body sides. The front and rear of the vehicle are well-guarded by “Rubicon 10th Anniversary” bumpers, with prototype black “Aero” bumper ends and an under-bumper skid plate providing more protection. Wrangler Level Red rides on prototype 17 x 8-inch beadlock-capable wheels, accented with TorRed color on the beadlock ring. The wheels carry aggressive 35-inch BFGoodrich Mud Terrain tires, available through the Mopar Tireworks program.

Jeep Wrangler Level Red is modified with a Mopar half-door kit, and additional exterior upgrades include a prototype Jeep Performance Parts tire carrier, a locking gas cap, a hood prop kit and Jeep Performance Parts rock rails. Wrangler Level Red also sports badges for each of the five trails in Moab recognized by the Jeep brand as “Badge of Honor” trails. (Through the Jeep brand’s Badge of Honor program, Jeep vehicle owners can earn special vehicle badges once they conquer any of more than 30 approved, high-profile trails across the United States.)

The interior of Wrangler Level Red complements the feel of the exterior. The Tuscany Katzkin leather seats are embellished with red stitching, which also is featured on the arm rest. Flame Red color brings alive the seat belt webbing, while HVAC rings are painted with TorRed inserts and roll bar padding in the rear also features red accents. The interior is further upgraded with a gloss black look on the steering wheel spokes and dash grab handle. Additional accessories include a prototype Jeep Cargo Management System (JCMS) with a tow-strap bag and first aid bag on the rear swing gate, all-weather floor mats, grab handles, and a lockable storage bin under the seat.

Jeep Wrangler MOJO
The Jeep Wrangler MOJO (the “OJ” in the name stands for “Orange Jeep”) is geared for the off-road enthusiast who seeks an even tougher vehicle with the functionality to tackle the most extreme trails. A Jeep Performance Parts 2-inch lift provides the clearance to traverse obstacles, with locking Dana 44 front and rear axles and a 4:1 Rock-Trac transfer case adding to Wrangler MOJO’s rock-climbing capabilities. Wrangler MOJO’s crawl ratio is 59:1. The vehicle’s 3.6-liter V-6 engine is augmented with a cold air intake and low restriction exhaust system.

The Bright Orange exterior of Wrangler MOJO is defended by prototype Jeep Performance Parts “Shorty” bumpers and prototype flat-top fenders, with 37-inch BFGoodrich Mud Terrain tires wrapped around prototype beadlock wheels, accented with Mopar Bronze on the beadlock ring. The Mopar “Rubicon X” hood is ornamented by prototype topographical graphics that contain bronze “mapping” accents and flow down to the side panels. Additional trail enhancements include a Jeep Performance Parts “Rubicon X” front bumper, an under-bumper skid plate and a prototype Jeep Performance Parts winch. Jeep Performance Parts rock rails are added to further protect Wrangler MOJO from boulders and rocks on extreme trails.

Prototype LED headlamps and fog lamps help make night trips on the trail easier, and front and rear prototype two-tone half-door kits and a soft top further add to the open-air fun and freedom all Wrangler vehicles offer. A Badge of Honor plate is added to show the trails Wrangler MOJO has mastered, and a prototype Jeep Performance Parts tire carrier gives support to the spare tire. The five Moab “Badge of Honor” badges also appear on Wrangler MOJO.

The purposeful interior of Wrangler MOJO is perfect for the off-roader not afraid of dust or mud. The two-tone instrument panel and console complement black Katzkin seat covers and provide for simple cleaning. With the carpet removed, rugged all-weather floor mats shield the interior, and a Mopar sunbonnet and roll bar pads are trimmed in a Driftwood sand color, matching Wrangler MOJO’s overall appearance. A Mopar lockable rear cargo tray keeps valuables safe.

Jeep Wrangler Maximum Performance
Jeep Wrangler Maximum Performance speaks to the hard-core enthusiasts who spend every spare minute on the trail and seek the ultimate in power and capability so they can go where others cannot. Wrangler Maximum Performance is armed with new Jeep Performance Parts-exclusive push-button electric-locking Dana 60 axles at the front and rear, as well as 4.88 gearing and the 4:1 Rock-Trac transfer case to better hurdle any trail impediments. A prototype Jeep Performance Parts 4-inch lift kit also raises the vehicle. Wrangler Maximum Performance boasts a 70:1 crawl ratio.

On the exterior, a prototype Jeep Performance Parts “Stinger” front bumper can handle whatever the terrain dishes out, especially when paired with a front bumper skid plate, Jeep Performance Parts Rubicon rock rails and a prototype flattop fender kit. A Mopar black grille dresses up the front, which also is modified with a prototype Jeep Performance Parts winch, and prototype LED lights mounted to the top of the vehicle to shine bright during nighttime off-road maneuvers. A prototype graphics package signifying the Moab landscape adorns the hood.

The Mopar Blue exterior is linked in appearance to the prototype eight-lug beadlock wheels by the Mopar Blue color on the beadlock ring. Wrangler Maximum Performance rides on 37-inch BFGoodrich Mud Terrain tires, with the sturdy hardtop covering full steel doors. The rear of the vehicle receives a prototype tire carrier and a 37-inch spare tire cover featuring the Jeep Performance Parts logo. Wrangler Maximum Performance also sports the five Moab “Badge of Honor” badges.

Mopar Blue is also featured inside, highlighting the HVAC bezels and steering wheel accents. Katzkin leather seats with embroidered Jeep logos feature blue accent stitching, as does the leather armrest. The interior is further enhanced with satin trim on the instrument panel, shift knob and HVAC controls, while the steering wheel spokes and dash grab handles are underscored in black.

Jeep Cherokee Adventurer
The Jeep Cherokee Adventurer boasts Trailhawk 4×4 capability, including a 48:1 crawl ratio with added utility and cargo convenience for off-road adventures, and a host of Jeep Performance Parts from Mopar.

The tan exterior is accented to the Trailhawk black hood decal. A prototype matte black Mopar roof basket rides on top, with a bungee net holding down cargo. Below, aggressive BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires are mounted on prototype 17-inch wheels, embellished with aluminum granite crystal and black pockets.

Jeep Performance Parts rock rails provide formidable off-road defense, and further protection is added courtesy of a two-piece underbody skid plate, a front suspension skid plate, an oil tank skid plate and a two-piece fuel tank skid plate. Red tow hooks adorn the front.

Inside the Cherokee Adventurer, black Katzkin leather seats, with perforated inserts, draw even more attention with maize-embroidered Jeep logos and maize stitching on the leather-wrapped steering wheel, arm rest and shift boot. The HVAC bezels, instrument panel, steering wheel and door switch bezels are upgraded with tan inserts to match the exterior color. The Jeep Cargo Management System is displayed with a Trailhawk bag, and is joined by a location-appropriate prototype Moab off-road bag. Bright door sill guards with the Cherokee logo, all-weather mats and a cargo tray complete the interior Mopar accessories.

Jeep Cherokee Dakar
The Jeep Cherokee Dakar is the most extreme Cherokee ever. The Silver Steel Satin Gloss exterior skin is strikingly set off with prototype Flame Red graphics that encircle the window and wrap around the black hood graphic. The Trailhawk 17-inch polished Satin clear coat wheels feature two large Flame Red pockets, with the Cherokee nameplate also changed to a Flame Red hue.

Front-end features are enhanced by two prototype Flame Red inserts on the traditional Jeep seven-slot grille, as well as through a prototype lower fascia trim. Cherokee Dakar is fortified for off-road action, equipped with Jeep Performance Parts rock rails, an oil pan skid plate, front suspension skid plate, two-piece fuel tank and underbody skid plates.

Cherokee Dakar’s wheel openings have been modified in order to accommodate larger 33-inch BFGoodrich Mud Terrain tires. The rough-and-ready look rises with a prototype Jeep Performance Parts lift kit, and additional suspension modifications help make it the most extreme Cherokee yet. Prototype wider fender flares with riveted bolts give a tougher appearance and also accommodate the wider track and larger tires. A prototype rear fascia allows for an even more aggressive departure angle and enhances the higher ride height. Cherokee Dakar’s crawl ratio is 48:1, and estimated approach and departure angles are 32 and 39 degrees, respectively.

Inside, prototype Katzkin leather black seats with “Machined Gunmetal” inserts are heightened with Header Red stitching, which is also found on the steering wheel, armrest and shift boot. A Flame Red insert accents the entertainment center. Accessories showcased from the Mopar catalog include all-weather floor mats, bright door-sill guards with the Cherokee logo, a cargo tray for storage, and the JCMS with the Trailhawk bag, as well as the prototype Moab off-road bag.

Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel Trail Warrior
The Trail Rated Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel Trail Warrior brings even more capability and convenience to the most-awarded sport-utility vehicle (SUV) ever, courtesy of a host of Jeep Performance Parts and Mopar accessories.

Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel sits higher thanks to its Quadra-Lift air suspension. The Mojave Sand exterior color is dressed with Satin Black flourishes on the grille, hood, lower front fascia, door handles, mirror caps, wheel flares and badging. The prototype Mopar roof basket, mounted on production cross rails, provides plenty of space to transport gear and provisions. Prototype 20-inch cast aluminum wheels in Satin black roll on aggressive All-Terrain BFGoodrich tires. Jeep Performance Parts tow hooks and rock rails are also featured. This unique Grand Cherokee features a 44:1 crawl ratio.

Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel Trail Warrior’s interior offers a black-and-tan dual tone scheme. Gloss black accents appear on the HVAC bezels, steering wheel, instrument panel and other appointments. Additional Mopar accessories include all-weather floor mats, door sills, lighted Jeep logo sills, a pedal kit and a cargo tray.

All-new Alfa Romeo 4C Debuts at the 2014 New York Auto Show, Marks the Iconic Italian Brand’s Return to North America

April 16, 2014 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - Marking the Italian brand’s highly anticipated return to North America, the all-new 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C makes its New York Auto Show debut – a mid-engine design inspired by the brand’s legendary racing history, state-of-the-art carbon fiber monocoque and all-aluminum turbocharged engine influenced by Formula 1, and advanced technological solutions, all to deliver supercar-level performance and driving exhilaration.

“The all-new Alfa Romeo 4C delivers supercar-level performance in its most elemental form,” said Harald Wester, President and CEO of Alfa Romeo. “With its ultra-lightweight materials and technological solutions derived directly from motorsports, a mid-engine proportion for maximum agility and purposeful styling cues to enhance performance – the all-new 4C coupe marks Alfa Romeo’s return to sports cars and the brand’s return to North America.”

For the Alfa Romeo brand, the all-new 4C represents the essential sportiness embedded in the brand’s DNA: Italian style, performance and technical excellence, for maximum driving pleasure in complete safety.

Acronym 4C
The Alfa Romeo 4C is inspired by the century-old tradition of Alfa Romeo and projects the brand’s authentic values into the future: Italian style, performance and engineering excellence, offering maximum driving satisfaction in total safety. The “4C” name recalls Alfa Romeo’s great sporting tradition: the acronyms 8C and 6C in the 1930s and 1940s distinguished racing and road cars fitted with powerful eight and six cylinder engines. The 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C model’s designation continues this tradition with the latest all-aluminum 1750 cc four-cylinder engine.

A tradition of essential beauty and function
The inspiration for the all-new 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C dates back to the 1967 33 Stradale, the homologated version of the racing Type 33, which is considered one of the most beautiful cars of all time. Like the 33 Stradale that combined extreme mechanical and functional requirements with undeniable Alfa Romeo style and performance – the 4C coupe shares its body forms and follows this performance tradition with an undoubtedly Italian-styled composite body “clothing,” a state-of-the-art carbon fiber
and aluminum structure, and a high-performance turbocharged engine.

With a purpose-built cockpit inspired by the legendary 1967 33 Stradale, entering the interior of the all-new Alfa Romeo 4C means entering a world derived from motorsport – only essential components for performance are integrated.

Two composite-framed sport seats, thermoformed dashboard and exposed carbon fiber monocoque highlight the coupe’s technological uniqueness. Furthermore, a driver-oriented cockpit with flat-bottom performance steering wheel with paddle-shift controls and aluminum pedals speak to the brand’s racing spirit. Emphasizing the Alfa Romeo 4C’s advanced technology and focus on lightweight technical solutions is a 7-inch full-color thin-film transistor (TFT) instrument cluster that  displays simple, high-impact graphics to keep the driver focused on the road, or track ahead.

Ultra-lightweight: carbon fiber, aluminum and composites structures
To create the ultra-lightweight architecture needed for maximum performance and dynamic efficiency, Alfa Romeo 4C engineers looked to Formula 1 and only the most advanced supercars for state-of-the-art materials. The result is a monocoque made entirely of carbon fiber that delivers extraordinary stiffness and strength. Attached to the Alfa Romeo 4C’s exotic monocoque are front and rear cell structures, roof reinforcements and an engine-mounting frame made from lightweight aluminum.

Alfa Romeo engineers continued the use of state-of-the-art materials by creating the bodywork entirely of SMC (Sheet Molding Compound), a low-density, high-strength composite material that is 20 percent lighter and dimensionally more rigid than steel. Providing the ability to create complex shapes while saving weight by 20 percent compared to steel are PUR-RIM (injected polyurethane) fascias and rear spoiler. Engineers even optimized the Alfa Romeo 4C’s windshield and side windows by using
10 percent thinner glass to reduce weight by up to 15 percent.

Finally, two sport seats feature a carbon fiber and fiberglass reinforced-composite structure to deliver the strength and seating position needed for performance driving.

High-tech powertrain for exceptional track performance and drivability
The engine is the beating heart of any Alfa Romeo, and for the 4C, it beats to an all-new 1750 cc direct-injection 237 horsepower aluminum engine. To ensure exceptional performance and drivability on the racetrack or city streets, this new engine features cutting-edge technical solutions, including direct-injection, intercooler, dual (intake and exhaust) continuous variable-valve timing (VVT), eight counterweights, and intake and exhaust systems optimized for Alfa Romeo 4C’s mid-engine layout.

A new generation turbocharger features a pulse-converter exhaust manifold to exploit pressure waves and boost torque at low-engine speeds. A waste gate valve adjusts turbo pressure and improves the engine’s efficiency. Advanced scavenging technology enables the Alfa Romeo 4C to maximize torque at low engine speeds and deliver more response to driver input by increasing combustion efficiency and turbine speed, all while eliminating turbo lag. As a result, torque delivery is instantaneous, with a peak of 258 ft.-lb. (350 N•m); 80 percent of which is available at only 1,700 rpm.

Teamed to the all-aluminum engine is a paddle-shifting Alfa TCT twin-clutch transmission, which has been specifically tuned for the all-new Alfa Romeo 4C. With its uniquely calibrated software that adjusts with the Alfa DNA selector system, the Alfa TCT’s gearshifts are designed to become most aggressive in the Dynamic and Race modes. The Alfa TCT system also integrates a “launch control” mode – delivering the utmost acceleration possible as soon as the driver releases the brake.

Alfa DNA selector offers advanced technological solutions
The all-new Alfa Romeo 4C features the brand’s innovative Alfa DNA selector with “Race” mode – enabling the driver to optimize the right level of performance through four modes. With a touch of the Alfa DNA selector, the character of the Alfa Romeo 4C can be changed to (in order of increasing capability):

  • All-weather – designed to ensure maximum control under adverse weather conditions and enables gentler accelerator input and special engine and brake control logic to match road speed and prevent skidding
  • Natural – enables grand touring comfort and smooth drivability for the Alfa TCT gearbox
  • Dynamic – enables improved driving performance via a more aggressive powertrain calibration and less intrusive electronic stability control (ESC) setting
  • Race – is the most extreme performance mode, putting the driver in total control of the car under race conditions. ESC and anti-slip regulation (ASR) are deactivated to allow the driver to control traction through the accelerator pedal. The Alfa Romeo Electronic Q2 differential control system remains active for fast exits out of corners or bends
    • In Race mode, launch control can be activated, allowing the Alfa Romeo 4C to deliver supercar-level 0-to-60 mph acceleration blasts in the mid-4 second range

For driving convenience in Dynamic, Natural or All-weather modes, the Alfa Romeo TCT gearbox can utilize an “auto” mode.

Supercar performance, compact size
Thanks to Alfa Romeo 4C’s advanced technological solutions and compact size, the coupe demonstrates its precision, agility and performance credentials with a top speed of 160 miles per hour (mph), 0-to-60 mph acceleration blasts in the mid-4 second range, 1.1 g of side acceleration on corners and 1.25 g of maximum braking deceleration.

4C combines the best technical and manufacturing competencies of Alfa Romeo and Maserati
The very best technical and industrial expertise of the Alfa Romeo and Maserati brands were used to develop the all-new Alfa Romeo 4C. Teamwork between the two brands included the integration of the Alfa Romeo Style Center design with the well-known craftsmanship of the Maserati brand’s Modena production plant. In addition, the Alfa Romeo 4C was boosted by the technological contributions of Italian suppliers, who are international leaders in manufacturing high-performance components.
This is a distinguishing trait of Alfa Romeo, a brand with a century of history that continues to be one of the most famous and popular ambassadors of Italian products around the world.

April 16, 2014 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - Shown for the first time today at the New York International Auto Show, the Chrysler Group’s SRT (Street and Racing Technology) brand is enhancing the ultra-exclusive, Viper Anodized Carbon Special Edition Package by combining it with the new Time Attack Group road-racing spec-package.

A total of only 50 SRT Viper Anodized Carbon Special Edition vehicles will be produced, with only 10 (Nos. 41-50) carrying the new Time Attack Group package. A numbered dash plaque identifying each of the SRT Viper Anodized Carbon Edition vehicles also is part of the package.

“We’ve received an overwhelming response to the unique Metallic Matte exterior color since first showing the Anodized Carbon Special Edition Viper late last year,” said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO – SRT Brand and Motorsports. “So we’re adding even more exclusivity with 10 distinctive SRT Vipers that combine our special exterior color with the new Time Attack Group of performance parts to offer our customers mind-boggling limits on their favorite road courses.”

The new Time Attack Group takes all of the functional chassis and aero parts from the Viper TA Special Edition and makes them available on the GTS price class. It includes a carbon fiber rear deck lid spoiler and two-piece front corner splitters to combine for a total of 339 pounds of down force at 150 mph.  Also included are two-mode Bilstein dampers specifically tuned for optimal on-track performance and identifiable by their unique orange springs. Street and Race Mode suspension settings offer firmer damping than the Viper GTS. Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, matte black lightweight forged-aluminum Sidewinder wheels and solid sway bars lead to even more capable handling. Track-duty two-piece Brembo brake rotors, adapted from the 2010 Viper ACR-X race car, add to an increased thermal capacity for additional resistance to brake fade.

As the first and only production application on a Chrysler Group vehicle, the Anodized Carbon Special Edition Package features Metallic Matte Black and satin surface finishes. Satin Black Vapor marks the exhaust bezels, fuel-filler door, and carbon brake ducts and a rear applique (below the liftgate) provide contrast to the Metallic Matte Black body.

An Alcantara-swathed interior with orange stitching adorns the SRT Viper Anodized Carbon Special Edition. An Alcantara headliner, Alcantara-wrapped knee blockers and door bolsters provide interior surface texture contrast, while gunmetal bezels, orange vent accents, and carbon-fiber trim further accent the interior. The Nappa leather and Alcantara-wrapped sport seats feature orange stitching.

A global Jeep design for a rapidly growing global brand
From the start, Jeep designers knew the Renegade would need to deliver best-in-class off-road capability with city-sized proportions that exuded the brand’s rugged style while at the same time enhancing versatility, maneuverability and style. Additionally, designers were tasked to create an all-new SUV that would symbolize the Jeep brand’s renowned American design and ingenuity, as it would mark the brand’s first entry into the small SUV segment in more than 100 markets around the globe. Last, Renegade had to offer the open-air freedom that dates back to its 1941 roots, with the Willys MB Jeep.

The result is the all-new 2015 Renegade, a vehicle that builds on the Jeep Wrangler’s powerful stance, and features fresh new styling with rugged body forms and aggressive proportions, which enable best-in-class approach and departure angles purposely designed to deliver best-in-class off-road capability. And for segment-exclusive panoramic views, two available “My Sky” open-air roof panel systems conveniently stow to provide passengers open-air freedom with ease.

All-new interior exudes a rugged and energetic appearance
The all-new Jeep Renegade interior features a rugged and energetic appearance that builds upon Jeep’s legendary brand heritage. This small SUV’s precisely crafted detail, innovative and high-quality color and material appointments, state-of-the-art technology, and clever storage draw inspiration from contemporary extreme sports gear and lifestyles.

The interior of the all-new 2015 Jeep Renegade has a distinctive form language, which Jeep designers have titled “Tek-Tonic.” This new design theme is defined by the intersections of soft and tactile forms with rugged and functional details. Major surfaces, such as the sculpted soft-touch instrument panel, are intersected with bold functional elements like the passenger grab handle – indispensable for off-road adventures and borrowed from its big brother, the legendary Jeep Wrangler. Unique “protective clamp fasteners,” anodized design accents and inspired colors are derived from extreme sports equipment, while the newly familiar “X” shapes inspired by its roof and tail lamps add to Renegade’s Tek-Tonic interior look. And to make sure all of the needed passenger gear fits, the Renegade is designed with an efficient and flexible interior package that includes a fold-forward front-passenger seat and class-exclusive removable, reversible and height-adjustable cargo floor panel.

Class-exclusive “My Sky” roof systems: continuing Jeep brand’s open-air freedom since 1941
Expanding the brand’s open-air freedom that originated with the legendary 1941 Willys MB Jeep, the all-new 2015 Renegade offers two class-exclusive “My Sky” open-air roof systems. With a manual removable, or premium power tilt/slide with removable feature, the innovative “My Sky” roof-panel systems quickly bring the outdoors inside. Designed for convenience, the honeycomb fiberglass polyurethane roof panels are lightweight and stow neatly in the rear cargo area. For added design detail, both “My Sky” roof systems feature a debossed “X” stamped into the roof that exude strength and play on the brand’s utilitarian history.

Best-in-class off-road capability with world-class on-road driving dynamics
Designed and engineered to first and foremost deliver legendary Jeep 4×4 capability, the all-new 2015 Renegade is the first vehicle from Chrysler Group to use the all-new “small-wide 4×4 architecture.”

With its fully independent suspension, capable of up to 8.1 inches (205 mm) of wheel articulation and 8.7 inches (220 mm) of ground clearance (Trailhawk model), Renegade raises the bar in the small SUV segment with best-in-class off-road capability. Extensive use of advanced steels, composites and advanced computer-impact simulations enable the all-new 2015 Renegade’s architecture to deliver world-class torsional stiffness and the Jeep brand’s durability required for Trail Rated adventures.

The all-new Renegade is the first Jeep SUV to integrate Koni’s frequency selective damping (FSD) front and rear strut system. This damping system enables the Jeep Renegade to deliver world-class road-holding and handling characteristics.

World’s first small SUV with nine-speed automatic transmission
Like the new Jeep Cherokee, the all-new 2015 Jeep Renegade has raised the bar — this time in the small SUV class — with the first available nine-speed automatic transmission. When paired with the 2.4-liter Tigershark engine with MultiAir2 (4×2 or 4×4), the nine-speed transmission delivers numerous benefits customers will appreciate, including aggressive launches, smooth power delivery at highway speeds and improved fuel efficiency versus competitive six-speed automatic transmissions.

More than 30 mpg highway
True to the Jeep brand, the all-new Renegade will offer customers a best-in-class combination of fuel efficiency and off-road capability, including two MultiAir four-cylinder engines that provide more than 30 miles per gallon (mpg) on the highway:

  • 2.4-liter Tigershark engine with MultiAir2
Efficiency and refinement also are hallmarks of Chrysler Group’s 16-valve, 2.4-liter Tigershark I-4 engine with the MultiAir2 electro-hydraulic fully variable valve-lift system. The high-tech engine produces 184 horsepower, 177 lb.-ft. of torque and is paired exclusively to the segment’s first nine-speed automatic transmission on 4×2 and 4×4 models. The 2.4-liter engine’s MultiAir technology uses a column of oil in place of the traditional mechanical link between the camshaft and intake valves to maximize intake manifold pressure and significantly reduce pumping losses. MultiAir2 takes the innovation further by simultaneously controlling both valve opening and closing events to more effectively manage combustion quality and compression ratio, all to improve fuel economy and performance.
  • 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo engine
The 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo four-cylinder engine offers 160 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque to provide a spirited driving experience on Jeep Renegade Sport and Latitude 4×2 and 4×4 models. Paired with a six-speed manual transmission, the 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo engine transmits its power through high-strength components throughout the drivetrain, including equal-length half shafts and a 4.438 final-drive ratio. Boost pressure is dynamically managed to provide a broad torque curve over a wide variety of ambient conditions, with a peak pressure of 22 psi at 4,000 rpm. Innovative MultiAir valve-actuation technology controls intake air cylinder-by-cylinder and stroke-by-stroke, reducing carbon-dioxide emissions and boosting fuel-economy up to 7.5 percent, compared with an engine with conventional valvetrain.

An Eco Mode is also available on the all-new Jeep Renegade, for fuel-efficient drivers.

Segment-exclusive technologies once found only on premium SUVs
The all-new 2015 Jeep Renegade offers technology features once found only in upper-segment vehicles, and makes them attainable to customers in the growing small SUV segment – including award-winning Uconnect Access (late availability), Uconnect touchscreens and the segment’s largest full-color instrument cluster.

  • Uconnect Access: Utilizes embedded cellular technology to allow Jeep Renegade occupants to get directly in contact with local emergency-service dispatchers – all with the push of the 9-1-1 ASSIST button on the rearview mirror. Uconnect Access applies the same logic to roadside assistance. One push of the “ASSIST” button summons help directly from Chrysler Group’s roadside assistance provider, or the Vehicle Customer Care Center. Further peace of mind comes from the system’s ability to receive text messages, announce receipt of texts, identify senders and then “read” the messages aloud with Bluetooth-equipped cell phones. Drivers can even use a “voice texting” feature that keeps their hands on the wheel and attention on the road.
  • Uconnect touchscreen radio systems: Award-winning in-vehicle handsfree communication, entertainment and available navigation. Key features available on the Uconnect 5.0 and 6.5AN systems include a 5.0-inch or 6.5-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth connectivity, single or dual-turner, radio data system capability (RDS), digital audio broadcast (DAB), HD Radio, digital media broadcasting (DMB), SiriusXM Radio, SiriusXM Traffic, SiriusXM Travel Link, USB port and auxiliary audio jack input.
  • Segment’s largest full-color instrument cluster display: Filling the Jeep Renegade’s gauge cluster in front of the driver is an available 7-inch, full-color, premium multiview display, featuring a reconfigurable function that enables drivers to personalize information inside the instrument cluster. The information display is designed to visually communicate information, using graphics and text, quickly and easily.

Renegade features up to 70 advanced safety and security features
Safety and security were at the forefront in the development of the all-new 2015 Jeep Renegade, setting the stage for up to 70 available safety and security features, including the segment’s first availability of Forward Collision Warning-Plus and LaneSense Departure Warning-Plus.
In addition, engineers added both active and passive safety and security features, including Blind-spot Monitoring; Rear Cross Path detection; ParkView rear backup camera with dynamic grid lines; electronic stability control (ESC) with electronic roll mitigation and seven standard air bags.

All-new Scat Pack 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 gives Challenger best-in-class power and efficiency

The Shaker returns for 2015 on the R/T and the R/T Plus models, bringing the iconic engine-mounted, fully functional cold-air induction Shaker hood with up to 410 lb.-ft. of torque and unique wheels, interior trim, exterior styling cues and more.

Award-winning 305 horsepower Pentastar V-6 engine – now with standard TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission for improved responsiveness and improved fuel economy

Challenger SXT and SXT Plus models feature the award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, which delivers 305 track-ready horsepower at 6,350 rpm and a responsive 268 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,800 rpm. A cold-air induction system and dual exhausts from the headers back to the exhaust tips help to deliver more than 90 percent of the engine’s peak torque from 1,800 to 6,400 rpm – all for outstanding drivability and responsiveness. Paired with the new standard eight-speed transmission, the Pentastar V-6 delivers improved fuel economy compared with the outgoing model.

Segment-exclusive eight-speed automatic now standard on 2015 Dodge Challenger
The 2015 Dodge Challenger’s segment-first eight-speed automatic transmission delivers world-class precision and fuel efficiency, along with a new electronic shifter, sport mode and paddle-shifting capabilities for more performance, as well as an improvement in fuel economy. Once limited to sedans costing twice as much, the new Dodge Challenger democratizes this exclusive world-class technology, offering the Torque-Flite eight-speed automatic transmission standard on every V-6 model for 2015.

The new 2015 Dodge Challenger R/T lineup and high-performance 6.4-liter Scat Pack and 392 HEMI Scat Pack Shaker trims offer the choice of a six-speed manual or the ZF 8HP70 electronic eight-speed automatic transmission. By design, this state-of-the-art gearbox provides world-class shift quality and refinement with enhanced performance and fuel efficiency. Paired with the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine and its 400 lb.-ft. of torque, the Dodge Challenger R/T models can deliver 0-60 mph performance in the mid-5-second range. For even quicker acceleration, the Dodge Challenger 6.4-liter Scat Pack and 392 HEMI Scat Pack Shaker with 485 horsepower can do the same sprint in the mid-4-second range.

For customers looking for V-6 power and efficiency, the Dodge Challenger SXT models now offer the advanced TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission for 2015, delivering 0-60 in the low 6-second range.

The design of both eight-speed transmissions further contributes to efficiency. At 198 pounds (90 kg), it weighs just 8 pounds (3.6 kg) more than the previous Challenger R/T’s five-speed gearbox. Furthermore, the transmission features particularly close fifth through eighth speed gear ratios for smoother shifting, along with a lower cruising rpm in top gear for added refinement.

The legend returns with fully functional Shaker cold-air intake and complete Shaker appearance (late availability)
For Challenger owners looking for an even more aggressive appearance, Dodge brings back the legendary Shaker package, featuring a functional engine-mounted “Shaker” hood scoop and a full array of exclusive Shaker content. The all-new Shaker hood and scoop provide cold-air induction, along with a Mopar-branded cold-air intake fitted with a conical air filter, which feeds fresh air to meet the demands of the 6.4-liter V-8, as well as the 5.7-liter HEMI, at speed.

April 17, 2014 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - The Dodge brand is bringing its A-game for its 100thanniversary, significantly updating both the iconic Challenger muscle car and Charger four-door sedan.

The iconic Dodge Charger gets a full-body makeover for 2015 along with powertrain updates that include a standard TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission on both Charger’s standard 3.6-liter V-6 Pentastar engine and, new for 2015, the R/T equipped 5.7-liter HEMI® V-8.

“Our Dodge designers have resculpted nearly every single body panel of the Dodge Charger for 2015, giving it a sleek, nimble appearance,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO — Dodge Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “The Charger’s all-new exterior design combined with its standard new TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission and the latest in-car technology builds on the brand’s promise to deliver American performance machines with world-class efficiency, technology, authentic materials and standout styling for our customers.”

Charger continues to grow its market share
The 2015 Dodge Charger competes in the U.S. full-size car market, but stands alone in a class by itself as the only American-bred four-door muscle car.  In March of 2014, the Dodge brand reached a significant milestone, with Challenger and Charger sales combining to sell a total of more than 1 million units in the United States.

The Charger’s combination of aggressive and youthful image, full-size functionality and world-class engineering and quality resonates with young and affluent buyers. Charger’s purchasers on average are 15 years younger than its competitors’ buyers within the segment, with more than half identifying themselves as millennials or Generation Xers.

In 2013, Charger posted its best sales year since 2007, further fueling a 3.2 percentage point gain in market share since 2009.

‘Pure’formance, Aero’dramatics’ and ‘Fun’ctionality in Design
Inspired by its performance-enthusiast roots when Charger first launched more than 45 years ago, the new Charger successfully pays homage to past muscle cars while offering distinctly modern all-new exterior and interior appointments.

The all-new exterior of the 2015 Dodge Charger is spiritually inspired by the iconic second-generation Charger from the late 1960s, and for 2015, specifically draws its cues from the 1969 model. With its rear-wheel-drive (RWD) platform and proven power, the Charger’s modern take on old-school muscle is sure to resonate with today’s enthusiasts.

The Charger’s easily recognizable Coke-bottle design and scalloped body sides, sinister front crosshairs and aggressive stance and signature LED “racetrack” tail lamps all get a major makeover for 2015 with cleaner lines to create a sleek, chiseled, nimble and lighter weight appearance. The exterior redesign includes changes to the hood, fenders, front and rear fascias, headlamps, tail lamps, front doors and spoiler.

Starting up front, the 2015 Charger’s new front styling features an all-new crosshair grille, LED fog lamps (on SXT and R/T), turn signals and daytime running lights (DRLs), and new projector-beam headlamps (HID lights on premium trims). The Charger’s all-new forward-leaning front fascia gives it a superhero’s confident stance. Blacked out front-end graphics create a mask that creates a family resemblance with the Dodge Dart and Durango. Slim, elongated DRLs and a full-width grille enhance the width of the sedan; Dodge logos are echoed in the outside corner of each headlamp.

In profile, the 2015 Charger carries forward its muscular Coke-bottle styling, with streamlined side scallops, while headlamps and tail lamps are now wrapped around each corner to create a trim, sinuous and tailored look. The net effect is that the car appears significantly lighter and more nimble.

The rear styling makeover begins at the touchdown point of the C-pillar, which is moved rearward to create an even more pronounced fastback appearance combined with a shorter rear overhang. A new three-piece spoiler is more integrated into the decklid, while the signature “racetrack” LED tail lamp takes on the same continuous glowing ribbon of light that debuted on the new 2014 Dodge Durango. The center high-mounted stop lamp is relocated from the top of the decklid to the roofline inside the back glass, allowing centering of the Charger’s backup camera.

All-new wheels and heritage colors complete the palette
All Charger models receive new wheels. A total of 10 wheels are available with 20-inch wheels standard on R/T models. In fact, six different 20-inch wheels are available on Charger for 2015, including an available 20-by-9-inch forged aluminum wheel finished in matte Hyper Black II paint. Special heritage colors include TorRed and new B5 Blue, along with Redline Tri-coat Pearl, Jazz Blue Pearl, Granite Crystal Metallic, Billet Silver Metallic, Phantom Black Tri-coat Pearl, Ivory Tri-coat Pearl and Bright White.

Driver-oriented interior with craftsmanship and world-class materials
The 2015 Charger’s restyled driver-focused interior features all-new premium, soft-touch materials, a new 7-inch thin-film transistor (TFT) customizable digital instrument gauge cluster and a new instrument panel center stack with a next-generation audio system embedded in the stack’s standard touchscreen display.

The Charger’s interior is instantly brought to life by its unique premium aluminum-lithograph driver bezel, which enables a seamless, billeted and highly detailed appearance that carries through the instrument cluster and center console. Thanks to advanced manufacturing techniques, the aluminum bezel features one-piece construction for a consistent appearance from nearly the A-pillar to the surrounding area of the Uconnect system, highlighting all the ergonomically located vehicle functions for the driver.

The instrument cluster has also been given the high-tech treatment and now includes a full-color 7-inch TFT screen similar to the one found in the 2014 Dodge Durango and Dodge Dart. Standard on all models, this screen gives drivers more than 100 ways to customize how information is presented.

Framing the Charger’s new instrument cluster is a newly redesigned three-spoke thick rim sport steering wheel with available paddle shifters. The buttons to control driver information functions are now larger and illuminated to make them easier to operate. Buttons for Uconnect and phone access now reside along the bottom edge of the horizontal spokes. As before, Charger’s popular audio controls are still found on the back of the upper steering wheel spokes.

Looking to the center stack, the 2015 Charger features the latest and greatest Uconnect Access suite of technologies. All 2015 models feature a standard Uconnect touchscreen, including a 5-inch or the largest in the class 8.4-inch. Under these large and easy-to-use touchscreens are redundant button and knob controls for audio and climate functions.

A performance-inspired all-new electronic shifter is standard on both V-6 and V-8 models. The fully electronic shifter mimics a linkage shifter, with tactile and visual cues for gear location, while providing the benefits of electronic shifting, such as short throws and low shift efforts.

Charger features eight all-new interior trims, including Black and Tungsten cloth, Black and Pearl leather, and Black and Ruby Red leather.

Segment-exclusive TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic now standard on all
Dodge Charger models

Once limited to sedans costing twice as much, the new 2015 Dodge Charger democratizes this exclusive world-class technology, offering the segment-exclusive TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission standard on every model, including new for 2015, on Dodge Charger SE models and HEMI-powered R/T models.

The 2015 Dodge Charger R/T and R/T Road & Track models integrate the TorqueFlite electronic eight-speed automatic transmission. By design, this state-of-the-art gearbox provides world-class shift quality, refinement and fuel efficiency. Paired with the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine and its 370 best-in-class horsepower and 395 lb.-ft. of torque, the Dodge Charger R/T models can deliver 0-60 mph performance in the high-5 seconds.

Best-in-class 31 mpg with standard Pentastar V-6
Dodge Charger SE and SXT rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) models are powered by the award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, which delivers 292 horsepower (218 kW) at 6,350 rpm and 260 lb.-ft. (353 N•m) of torque at 4,800 rpm and a best-in-class 31 miles per gallon (mpg) on the highway.

For Dodge Charger customers who want 31 mpg V-6 fuel economy with even more power, the Dodge Charger SXT model offers the Rallye Appearance Group – providing up to 300 horsepower and 264 lb.-ft. of torque thanks to a unique cold-air induction system, sport-tuned exhaust and engine calibration.

The Pentastar engine features double-overhead camshafts (DOHC) with dual-independent cam phasers (DICP), integrated exhaust manifolds, polymer-coated piston skirts, forged connecting rods and a high-pressure die-cast aluminum cylinder block in a 60-degree configuration.

Refinement was a key objective for every component during the design phase of the engine and was achieved by using advanced computer-aided engineering techniques. Structural, intake and exhaust areas of the engine are designed to deliver low levels of overall sound. Combined with the use of premium hydraulic powertrain mounts, the 2015 Dodge Charger delivers refinement in all powertrain applications and at all RPMs.

Charger’s available HEMI V-8 engine delivers best-in-class 370 horsepower and
395 lb.-ft. of torque

For the muscle-car enthusiast, the 2015 Dodge Charger R/T featuring the legendary 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine with 370 horsepower (276 kW) and 395 lb.-ft. of torque (536 Nm), now combines the engine’s four-cylinder mode Fuel Saver Technology with three additional gears from the new TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission for maximum performance and efficiency.

For even more responsiveness, the 2015 Dodge Charger R/T Road & Track model features a unique 3.07 rear axle ratio (versus the standard 2.62 rear axle ratio) and a high-speed engine controller with unique engine and transmission calibrations. In addition, the 2015 Dodge Charger R/T model lineup’s Fuel Saver Technology seamlessly alternates between smooth, high-fuel-economy four-cylinder mode when less power is needed and V-8 mode when more power is in demand.

The 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine also features variable-cam timing (VCT) to improve fuel economy in two ways. First, it reduces the engine’s pumping work by closing the intake valve later. Second, it increases the expansion process of the combustion event. This allows more work to be transferred to the wheels instead of being lost out of the exhaust port as heat. VCT improves engine breathing, which improves engine efficiency and power.

New 2015 Dodge Charger delivers array of easy-to-use, state-of-the-art advanced technologies
From its updated award-winning Uconnect Access system, to the availability of Uconnect Access services with roadside assistance, theft-alarm notification, voice texting and the ability to turn the Charger into a Wi-Fi hot spot to the new Dodge Performance Pages, 3-D navigation and segment-exclusive premium Beats Audio system, the 2015 Dodge Charger delivers a slew of high-tech features for the ultimate driving experience.

The Charger’s acclaimed Uconnect Access system leverages advanced embedded cellular technology, which enables direct, one-touch connections with emergency service providers, roadside assistance dispatchers and vehicle information specialists.

With its available mobile phone app, Charger owners can start their vehicle and lock or unlock doors while away from the vehicle. Charger owners also can access on-demand Wi-Fi making their car a moving hot spot.

Charger’s new for 2015 Uconnect Via Mobile lets customers enjoy their personal Internet radio accounts and stream audio content using their own mobile device data plans. It seamlessly brings four popular Internet radio apps into the Dodge Charger, including Aha by Harman, iHeartRadio, Pandora and Slacker. Like all Uconnect-brand features, it is designed to be easy to learn and easy to use.

The 2015 Dodge Charger’s available navigation system accommodates one-step voice-controlled destination entry and enhanced 3-D navigation map graphics, making it simple for driver’s to recognize where they are and where they need to go.

The Charger also offers premium audio systems that are designed to immerse passengers in the ultimate audio experience, including the segment-exclusive high-definition Beats Audio system.

Thanks to the speed of its PowerNet electrical architecture, the 2015 Dodge Charger models equipped with Sport mode can instantly transform the four-door muscle car’s personality to improve performance. By engaging Sport mode, Charger drivers can reduce shift times from approximately 400 milliseconds to 250 milliseconds, increase engine and throttle responsiveness, adjust electronic stability control (ESC) settings and firm up the steering feel.

Additionally on the Charger R/T Road & Track model, the driver can use the all-new Dodge Performance Pages, which is available on the segment’s largest 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen. It includes active launch control, launch control RPM settings, performance timers and performance gauges, such as G-force indicators and engine performance.

New 2015 Dodge Charger offers more than 80 safety and security features; leverages state-of-the-art driver-assist features
The Dodge Charger offers more than 80 safety and security features, including many that are new for 2015. New available features for the model year include Full-speed Forward Collision Warning-Plus, which provides autonomous braking and, under certain circumstances, slows or brings vehicle to full stop when frontal collision appears imminent.

Adaptive Cruise Control Plus with Full Stop helps maintain distance from the vehicle ahead and, under certain traffic conditions, the system can bring the new 2015 Dodge Charger to full stop without driver intervention. New Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist introduces subtle steering-wheel input to alert the driver of inadvertent lane departure and assist with corrective action.

Charger’s ParkSense rear park assist system works when the car is in reverse, sensing objects at low speeds. If imminent collision is detected, the system will provide a momentary, autonomous brake pulse or, in certain circumstances, bring the vehicle to a stop.

New for 2015, 9-1-1 call/Assist Call connects Dodge Charger occupants directly with emergency-service providers via built-in data connection with a push of a button, a feature exclusive to Chrysler Group’s Uconnect Access service.

The Charger’s standard Keyless Enter ’n Go activates interior lighting and enables passive cabin entry and trunk access through the driver’s personalized key fob. The new Charger also includes a standard ultrasonic security system with an anti-tilt feature that sounds an alarm if vehicle is towed or raised on a jack.

Enthusiast-inspired Rear-Wheel Drive architecture with advanced technological solutions
The chassis of the all-new 2015 Dodge Charger is designed, engineered and fine-tuned to deliver world-class performance and efficiencies thanks to its advanced technological solutions, which include:

  • Electric power steering (EPS)

Segment’s most innovative All-Wheel Drive system delivers best-in-class fuel economy
The 2015 Dodge Charger SE and SXT are available with AWD capability thanks to a segment-exclusive active transfer case and front-axle disconnect system that improves fuel economy by up to 5 percent. No other major automotive manufacturer offers the combination of these two independent technologies. Dodge Charger’s innovative AWD system seamlessly transitions between RWD and AWD with no driver intervention. When AWD is not required, the system automatically disconnects the front axle to maximize fuel economy while still providing the outstanding performance and handling inherent in RWD vehicles. To better anticipate low-traction roadways, the Dodge Charger’s innovative AWD system automatically engages in cold weather, when slip is detected or when the windshield wipers are on in rainy or snowy conditions.

April 22, 2014 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - Earth Day is April 22, and you can add asking your vehicle technician for Mopar Remanufactured (Reman) Parts to the list of planet friendly actions that support the worldwide celebration of the annual environmental event. In addition to placing plastic products in the recycling bin or depositing trash in a compost pile, choosing Mopar Reman Parts helps put tons of materials to work that would be otherwise be earmarked for landfills.

Mopar Remanufactured Parts give new meaning to the phrase “environmental movement,” offering a second life to automotive parts that would otherwise be discarded. Mopar Reman Parts also are produced with a smaller carbon footprint and result in cleaner air, earth and water resources. The following 2013 statistics illustrate the earth friendly benefits of choosing Mopar Reman Parts:

  • The Mopar Reman Parts program puts to work more than 5,793 tons of material that would have been thrown out

  • Mopar Reman Parts repurposed 14,173 semi-trailers of material — loads that would have been headed for landfills

  • Worldwide, raw materials saved by the remanufacturing industry in a year could fill 155,000 railroad cars, forming a train 1,100 miles long

  • Annual energy savings worldwide from the remanufacturing industry equals the electricity generated by five nuclear power plants — or 10,744,000 barrels of crude oil, which corresponds to a fleet of 233 oil tankers

“Mopar Reman Parts are proud to be green,” said Kathy Wideman, Head — Mopar Repair and Remanufactured Parts Portfolio. “The Mopar brand is committed to building products that are friendly for the environment, and through the Mopar Reman Parts program, tons of used parts are recycled and fully remanufactured with existing components each year, avoiding much of the energy usage and waste that occurs when manufacturing a completely new part. And in addition to being environmentally friendly, Mopar Reman parts are pocketbook friendly as well, offering quality at an exceptional value, retaining a vehicle’s integrity and saving money.”

Mopar continued to demonstrate the brand’s dedication to caring for the planet in 2013, adding more than 200 part numbers to its growing catalog of more than 4,000 Mopar Remanufactured Parts. The portfolio includes 25 different product lines available as high-quality, cost-effective options for consumers to choose from. Examples include light repair products such as alternators, starters, brake calipers, A/C compressors and electronic control modules, as well as powertrain products like engines, cylinder heads, transaxles and transmissions.

Mopar Reman Parts are priced right without sacrificing quality. Components are completely disassembled and carefully inspected and tested to meet or exceed the latest Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specs. All Mopar Reman Parts also feature the latest OEM upgrades, providing customers the latest technology, redesigned components and module updates at a value competitive in comparison to OEM parts.

When installed at a Chrysler Group dealership or FIAT studio, customers can rest assured that technicians trained to work on their vehicles are installing Mopar Reman Parts engineered and designed specifically to fit their ride, unlike competitive aftermarket reman parts. And for even more peace of mind, most Mopar Reman Parts are backed by the nationally recognized Mopar 12-month/12,000-mile limited warranty, while Mopar Reman powertrain components are supported with a 3-year/100,000-mile limited warranty.

April 19, 2014 , Beijing - The Jeep® brand introduced four new design concepts at the 2014 Beijing International Motor Show today. The quartet takes Jeep production models and injects them with fresh elements inspired by millennia of Chinese culture and the sense of style, fashion and flash-forward trends found in megacities such as Shanghai and Beijing.
The four design concepts include two interpretations of the all-new Jeep Cherokee – the Sageland and Urbane – a premium, luxury version of the iconic Jeep Wrangler called the Jeep Wrangler Sundancer, and the Zi You Xia, a special design concept based on the all-new 2015 Jeep Renegade.

“Jeep is one of the fastest growing imported brands in China and this is our largest Jeep market outside the U.S.,” said Mike Manley Chief Operating Officer for Asia Pacific and President and CEO – Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “It makes sense for us to use this year’s Beijing Motor Show as a platform to explore how consumers react to these new Chinese-inspired ideas that may find their way into future production vehicles.”

Jeep Zi You Xia Design Concept
Following its world premiere appearances at the 2014 Geneva and New York auto shows, the all-new Jeep Renegade now debuts as a special design concept in Beijing.  Zi You Xia, which means “rebel”, is a new concept that highlights a more sophisticated aspect of the Renegade’s personality.

Inspired by the colors of the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, the concept is finished in a Warm Chocolate Gray with a contrasting Dark Anodized Bronze color accentuating the grille throats, front fog lamp bezels, rear lower fascia, skidplate, tail lamp insert bezel and badging.

The roof panel, grille surrounds and door mirror caps are painted a Dark Charcoal to provide harmonious accents and a more premium appearance throughout. Unique 20-inch, Dark Anodized Bronze alloy wheels contribute additional visual flair as well as hinting at the vehicle’s outstanding on-road and off-road driving dynamics.

The interior of the concept boasts an energetic ambience with rugged and functional details crafted in high quality materials. The Piano Black color is accompanied by grey A-pillars and headliner. The air vents, speaker bezel, gear shifter, steering wheel bezels, cup holder and door release handles are finished in an Anodized Copper, reflecting the metallic color common in sports equipment. The rich brown leather upholstery on the seats and door panels feature ‘ombre’ grey/black plaid fabric inserts, that were inspired by traditional menswear suiting and tailored patterns, adding just the right touch of sophistication to the sporty Zi You Xia.

True to the Jeep brand’s heritage, the all-new Renegade is the most capable small SUV and the first in the world to offer a nine-speed automatic transmission. Designed for global markets and manufactured with up to 16 powertrain combinations – the most ever in a Jeep vehicle – it has been engineered to meet the specific requirements of customers all around the world.

Jeep Cherokee Sageland and Urbane Design Concepts
Earlier this year the new Jeep Cherokee was launched in the Chinese market featuring modern Jeep design, best-in-class capability and the first nine-speed automatic transmission in its segment. With the introduction of the Sageland and Urbane design concepts, the Jeep brand demonstrates how the reach of the Cherokee could expand in new directions.

The design theme and color palette for the new Jeep Cherokee Sageland was inspired by the historical landmarks and natural sceneries found throughout the mystical expanse of the Shangri-La Region.

The concept’s exterior is painted in Ivory tri-coat Pearl with bronze grille collars and front and rear fascia appliques. The Daylight opening (DLO), roof rack, door mirror caps and exhaust tips are painted in Satin Bronze chrome, enhancing the overall look and adding to the unique style of this vehicle.

Inside Sageland, the earth-tone color palette continues with a combination of light, neutral grey Nappa leather seats with red and water blue accent stitches. The seats also feature stitching inspired by traditional Chinese knot design, and the pattern on the door appliques derived from the color and finish of Chinese ornamental door knobs.

Jeep Cherokee Urbane Design Concept
The new Jeep Cherokee Urbane design concept couples the night life of a modern megacity with glamour and elegance. The Urbane features a sleek, Maximum Steel metallic exterior with Hyper Black accents on the roof rack, door mirror caps, grille collars, front and rear fascias, wheel finishings, vehicle badging and antenna.

The cabin of the Urbane embraces the Chinese spirit, colors and patterns. Chinese calligraphy is referenced through the use of bold brush stroke patterns in the decorative door applique accentuating the predominantly Piano Black interior. The seats are finished in dark red Nappa leather with bright red accent stitching. The floor mats feature a unique decorative pattern inspired by traditional Chinese windows.

In China, the all-new Jeep Cherokee is equipped with the 3.2-liter V-6 Pentastar and the 2.4-liter MultiAir petrol engines coupled with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Jeep Wrangler Sundancer Design Concept
For the Beijing Show, Jeep designers combined the legendary capability of the Jeep Wrangler with a touch of sophistication – and a sense of fashion – to create the Jeep Wrangler Sundancer.

The design concept is painted a tri-coat Chocolate Brown metallic color with gold accents. The fender flares feature a unique Golden Bronze tone-on-tone ghosted pattern, and the windows also have bronze tinted glass.

The unique front and rear bumpers are equipped with linear LED lighting and have been painted a tri-coat Chocolate Brown metallic color coupled with Golden Bronze accent inserts to match the exterior. Completing the Jeep Wrangler Sundancer’s impactful exterior appearance are 20-inch pale gold billet aluminum wheels with polished gold inserts, and a unique multi-piece billet aluminum fender badge.

The Wrangler Sundancer’s interior features Axis II perforated seat inserts and exclusive Berry Baltique Semi-Aniline leather, the same leather found in the most luxurious labels in fashion. The door panels and upper instrument panel are wrapped in premium leather and hand sewn provocateur lace stitching can be found on the outer deck seam, steering wheel and center lid console. The gold color scheme from the exterior continues into the interior, with new ‘Gold Rush’ interior paint on the door handles, steering wheel bezel, grab handle, gear shifter trim ring bezels and sill plates.

Finishing touches to the interior include Romina premium leather trimmed/wrapped floor mats.

The Jeep Wrangler lineup in China currently includes the Sport, Sahara and the Rubicon model on which the Jeep Wrangler Sundancer design concept is based. Jeep Wranglers in China are fitted with 3.6L V-6 Pentastar petrol engines, or 3.0L V-6 Pentastar petrol engines.

In 2012, a previous special version of the Jeep Wrangler, the Wrangler Dragon, debuted at the Beijing Show as a design concept and is now being produced and sold not only in China but also in markets such as the U.S., Australia and Puerto Rico.

Nearly 800,000 people attended the Beijing Motor Show in previous years.

Commitment to Quality is Built into each 2015 Chrysler 200

2015 chrysler 200C

2015 chrysler 200C

May 14, 2014 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - Before they are shipped to dealers, shiny new 2015 Chrysler 200 sedans pass through the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant’s (SHAP) newly-added Quality Assurance Center in the final step of the vehicle’s exhaustive quality process.

Randomly selected vehicles are scrutinized each day in the first-of-its-kind Quality Assurance Center, which conducts quality audits and detailed technical measurements on more than 400 vehicle functions (such as heating, cooling, emissions, fit-and-finish), and houses a material laboratory staffed with an on-site chemist.

“We’re confident the 2015 Chrysler 200 will make a strong first impression with customers,” Doug Betts, Senior Vice President — Quality, Chrysler Group LLC, said. “The all-new sedan benefits from a significantly enhanced quality process at the plant that’s part of our commitment to World Class Manufacturing. Quality and customer satisfaction are part of everyone’s job.”

About one and a half years ago, team leaders at SHAP started analyzing and planning how they would build the all-new Chrysler 200. SHAP employees identified and implemented approximately 3,500 quality controls into the assembly process before the first customer vehicles were built.

“The goal is to design each workstation so it’s impossible to make a mistake,” Betts explained. “The best expert on how to error-proof a specific assembly job is the person who does it every day – that’s why it’s so important to have all workers engaged in World Class Manufacturing.”

While the primary objective is to prevent issues from occurring in the first place, the plant has increased the number of dedicated quality inspectors from 22 to 50 as an extra layer of protection for customers.

The all-new body and paint shops make SHAP one of the most versatile and flexible facilities within the Company, significantly enhancing the quality and consistency of each new car.

Like other Chrysler Group assembly plants, SHAP also constructed a state-of-the-art metrology center in preparation for the new vehicle launch. The metrology center is a high-tech laboratory with a clean room environment that allows engineers to find the root cause of any build variations – even when components appear perfect to the naked eye. The lab uses a complex set of fixtures, which mimic the body shop’s process, plus laser scanners and blue light fixtures to measure and create 3-D digital models. All of these tools are used to find and resolve any fit-and-finish issues before customer vehicles are built.

The attention to detail and quality controls at the plant represent the final steps in a quality process that begins with the inception of each vehicle program at Chrysler Group.

The Chrysler team conducts extensive research with current customers – and competitors’ customers – to set the vehicle targets for things such as performance, safety, fuel economy and quality. This includes the Company’s Perceived Quality Team that works with designers, engineers and suppliers to enhance the fit-and-finish, surface quality, material options and even the sound quality of moveable parts like doors and storage bins. Customers make judgments on a vehicle’s quality the first time they see and touch a car, whether it’s at an auto show, dealership or neighbor’s driveway; the Perceived Quality team is tasked with making sure customers receive a strong first impression on the quality of the 200.

In final preparations for the market launch, a development fleet of 200 sedans undergoes testing, day and night, on all kinds of road surfaces, at high and low altitudes and through blizzard conditions, as well as dry, desert heat. All that testing adds up to more than 17 million validation miles, including tests done in Chrysler labs, at the proving grounds and on public roads.

Some of the most punishing tests take place inside the Chrysler Technology Center on the Road Test Simulator (RTS). It recreates the abuse vehicles endure at the hands of a 95th percentile customer – meaning a customer who drives the vehicle in more severe conditions than 95 percent of all drivers. The RTS recreates a wide range of on-road and off-road driving surfaces and puts a lifetime of wear-and-tear on a vehicle in one month’s time.

Continually improving its test methods, the 200 is one of the first Chrysler Group vehicles to be evaluated on the newly built Lateral Load Test Track at the automaker’s Chelsea (Mich.) Proving Grounds. The Lateral Load Test Track recreates the type of suspension stresses that a vehicle gets after years of hard driving on twisty roads that are more common in Europe. To validate the 200’s durability, development vehicles were run through the new track approximately 40,000 times, which simulates millions of rigorous miles and contributes to excellent long-term ride and handling characteristics.

Multimedia touchscreens and controls increasingly influence customers’ overall quality satisfaction. The award-winning Uconnect systems, available in the Chrysler 200, also receive thorough test drives as technicians work through an extensive checklist to validate the functionality and reliability of the system as well as how compatible it is with a wide variety of mobile phones, music players and other media devices.

The 2015 Chrysler 200 comes with a five-year/100,000 mile limited powertrain warranty and roadside assistance, in addition to three-year/36,000 mile bumper-to-bumper coverage.

May 20, 2014 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - The newly consolidated Dodge and SRT brands are launching out of the gate at full throttle – introducing the new 600-plus horsepower 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT with a Hellcat engine and its stablemate – the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT just one month after taking the wraps off the new Dodge Challenger 392 HEMI® Scat Pack Shaker at the New York Auto Show.

Driven by the five SRT performance hallmarks, the new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT and Challenger SRT with the Hellcat engine are re-designed and totally re-engineered to be the most true-to-form muscle coupes on the market with performance-enhancing technologies inside and out. The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat will feature the most powerful V-8 engine ever produced by Chrysler Group – the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V-8.

“The new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is the ultimate performance muscle car,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO – Dodge Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “Dodge is the Mainstream Performance brand, and now combined with SRT, we are able to unleash a true GT car with an all-new driver-focused interior and the TorqueFlite eight-speed transmission combined with the most powerful V-8 Chrysler has ever produced. The Challenger Hellcat has been released!”

The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT coupes will be built at the Brampton (Ont.) Assembly plant. Production is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2014.

Awe-inspiring powertrains

For 2015, the Challenger SRT with a Hellcat engine is propelled by the new supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V-8. Its 600-plus horsepower rating will be the highest of any V-8 engine in Chrysler Group’s celebrated history. The all-new V-8 engine can be mated with an upgraded six-speed manual transmission or a beefy, new TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic – the first such gearbox ever offered in the Dodge Challenger SRT’s time-honored segment.

This new HEMI® Hellcat engine is Dodge and SRT’s first application of V-8 supercharger technology, delivering the full brand experience with fresh potency.

The breakthrough supercharged engine features a forged-steel crankshaft with induction-hardened bearing surfaces. The result is a crank so well-engineered it can withstand firing pressures of 110 bar (1,595 psi) – the equivalent of five family sedans standing on each piston, every two revolutions. And its unique, specially tuned crank damper has been tested to 13,000 rpm.

High-strength, forged-alloy pistons – developed using advanced telemetry measurement – are coupled to powder-forged connecting rods with high-load-capacity bushings and diamond-like-carbon-coated piston pins.

The new supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V-8 has premium-grade, heat-treated aluminum-alloy cylinder heads that are optimized for superior thermal conductivity. And its die-cast aluminum rocker covers are HEMI Orange.

In addition to the supercharged HEMI V-8 in the Challenger SRT Hellcat, the new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT model also gets a power boost with upgrades to the 392 HEMI V-8. Horsepower climbs to 485 from 470, while peak torque jumps to 475 lb.-ft. from 470 lb.-ft.

The 392 also can be mated with a new TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic or the proven six-speed manual transmission.

All-new Drive Modes tailor the driving experience to each individual driver

Whether its on-road or on-track, Challenger SRT owners can personalize their drive experience via the all-new Drive Modes feature. Drive Modes tailor the driving experience by controlling horsepower, transmission shift speeds, steering (Challenger SRT only), paddle shifters (automatic transmission only), traction and suspension. Drive Modes are pre-configured for Sport, Track and Default settings, while the Custom setting lets the driver customize the drive experience to their favorite settings.

  • Custom – Allows the driver to personalize the vehicle’s performance
  • Sport – Delivers increased vehicle performance capability over the Default Mode
  • Track – Delivers maximum vehicle performance capability on smooth, dry surfaces
  • Default – Activates automatically when starting the vehicle

The Drive Mode feature is controlled through the Uconnect system and may be accessed by performing any of the following:

  • Pushing the SRT button on the instrument panel switch bank
  • Selecting “Drive Modes” from the “SRT & Apps” menu
  • Selecting “Drive Modes” from within the Performance Pages menu

Unlocking the power

For the first time in Chrysler Group history, the all-new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT with a Hellcat engine comes standard with two key fobs – red and black. The red key fob is the only key that can unlock the full horsepower and torque potential of the Challenger SRT Hellcat engine; while the black key fob limits the driver to a reduced engine output.

Valet Mode is offered on both Challenger SRT and Challenger SRT with a Hellcat engine. When Valet Mode is activated, the following vehicle configurations are enabled:

  • Engine is remapped to significantly reduce horsepower and torque; limited to 4,000 rpm
  • Transmission locks out access to first gear and upshifts earlier than normal
  • Transmission will treat the manual shifter position the same as the drive position
  • Traction, steering and suspension are set to their “Street” settings
  • Steering-wheel paddle shifters are disabled
  • Drive Mode functions are disabled
  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is enabled to Full-on
  • Launch Control is disabled

The driver can activate and deactivate Valet Mode with a four-digit PIN code they create.

Outstanding ride and handling

The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT rides on new, SRT-exclusive “77” eight-spoke 20 x 9-inch forged-aluminum “Hyper Black” wheels. Standard 245/45ZR20 (front and rear) Goodyear RSA2 All-Season or available Goodyear F1 Supercar Three-Season tires deliver serious grip and handling.

Standard wheels on the Challenger SRT with the Hellcat engine are new SRT-exclusive “Slingshot” split-seven spoke 20 x 9.5-inch, lightweight forged-aluminum wheels with a matte black finish; available on the SRT 392 as part of the SRT Track Pack. New P275/40ZR20 Pirelli P Zero Nero tires (front and rear) provide all-season traction while the newest tire technology from Pirelli includes the class exclusive four-season tire that is Y-Plus rated to handle the extreme speeds. Pirelli P Zero tires are available for three-season performance driving.

Available on the Challenger SRT Hellcat are 20 x 9.5-inch, lightweight forged-aluminum wheels with a Brass Monkey/dark bronze finish.

Benchmark braking

Standard on the 2015 Challenger SRT with the Hellcat engine is the largest front-brake package ever offered in an SRT vehicle, featuring all-new 390-mm (15.4-inch) Brembo two-piece rotors with six-piston calipers for outstanding heat management/thermal capacity and longevity. This upgraded high-performance brake package is available on the 392 HEMI® SRT model as part of the SRT Track Pack.

New anti-lock braking system (ABS), ESC and traction control systems are uniquely tuned and configurable for specific tire and powertrain configurations.

Aggressive and functional exteriors

Dodge and SRT designers and engineers spent 35 percent more time in the Chrysler Group’s full-scale wind tunnel in Auburn Hills, Michigan, (compared with the previous-generation Dodge Challenger SRT) developing and further refining the aggressive and functional exteriors on the Challenger SRT and Challenger SRT Hellcat. The result is a re-engineered Challenger capable of maximum aerodynamic performance for spirited driving on the road or the race track.

At the front, new fascia designs and all-new vertical-split grille provide a menacing update of its 1971 inspiration. A larger, power-bulge aluminum hood features a dedicated “cold-air” intake – a visual styling cue from the first Viper coupe built in 1996.

The hood on the new Dodge Challenger SRT with a Hellcat engine also includes dual air extractors to ensure effective removal of heat and reduced air turbulence in the engine compartment. The hood is standard in body color and is available in a Satin Black finish. Both models of the Challenger SRT feature all-aluminum hoods designed to reduce weight.

Another key design element on the Challenger SRT Hellcat is the exclusive Air Catcher inlet port, which feeds ram-air directly into the engine air box through the driver-side parking lamp.

All-new quad projector headlamps give a more detailed appearance, while a more aggressive brow “chops” the upper portion of the lamp design for an even more sinister attitude.

Integrated projector fog lamps on the Challenger 392 SRT are pushed to the lower corners to help accentuate the car’s width while illuminating the road. A new duck-bill fascia splitter helps improve the vehicle’s aerodynamics.

The Dodge Challenger SRT with a Hellcat engine features a larger front splitter designed for optimal downforce to minimize lift.

From the side, the signature muscular proportions and large thruster rear-quarter panels stand out from the crowd, while fender and belt lines tie together at the front and rear of the car to create a sleeker appearance. Differentiating the Challenger SRT Hellcat from the rest of the Challenger lineup are its “SUPERCHARGED” fender badges. Black sills accentuate the proportions of the muscle coupe and have been tuned in the wind tunnel to improve aerodynamics.

Out back, the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT recalls the historic 1971 model’s styling with a new split tail-lamp design and rear fascia. The tail lamps feature the new signature LED graphic with its smooth glow of light that can be seen from blocks away. A redesigned rear valance helps the 2015 Challenger SRT models look more planted on the ground. A unique, taller rear spoiler on the SRT Hellcat features a raised SRT logo.

Race-inspired, high-performance interiors

Inside the 2015 Dodge Challenger is an all-new enthusiast-centric cockpit with world-class materials, execution and technology. Key elements are inspired by the interior of the 1971 Challenger.

The performance cockpit of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT carries an essence of the 1971 Challenger, in an artistic and more organically styled way.

The all-new cleanly executed instrument panel features a stamped aluminum bezel, which sets the tone for the driver’s display. For a high-tech look, an innovative 7-inch driver-selectable driver information display (DID) screen is centered in the gauge cluster and provides an almost infinitely customizable display. The all-new DID screen is flanked by new analog speedometer and tachometer gauges, which provide a heritage-inspired look with concave shapes and a hub-covered needle design, reminiscent of the “tic-toc-tach” gauges from the 1971 Challenger. For the Challenger SRT with the Hellcat engine, the fixed gauges and digital graphics are finished in a Dark Radar Red tone to make it even more unique.

Additionally, the dashboard’s center stack neatly houses the new standard 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen. New for 2015 drivers can select one of the many offered backgrounds to connect the digital look and feel with their chosen interior package.

A new, trapezoidal shaped stamped aluminum center console provides Challenger SRT’s interior with a fresh look. The aluminum trim gets one of two finishes, “Hectic Mesh” for the Challenger 392 SRT and “Dark Engine Turn” for the Challenger SRT Hellcat. The console also exudes craftsmanship and style with leather-wrapped surfaces and French-seamed accent stitching running from the back to the front. Employing a unique, elevated design, the all-new center console houses ergonomically located redundant button and knob controls for audio and climate functions. An all-new media hub with an SD card slot, USB outlet and audio jack is neatly housed inside the center console’s flocked armrest.

For those who opt for the segment-first TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, an all-new and class-exclusive electronic shifter with an all-new driver-oriented T-handle provides the driver with intuitive gear selection and offers an Auto Stick selector gate for added control. For those who prefer having a third pedal, the precise and track-proven Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual transmission is fitted with a throwback ball shifter.

A redesigned SRT-branded heated steering wheel features a flat bottom for the high-performance driver. Available paddle shifters (with automatic transmission) are located on the back of the upper spokes. The buttons to control the driver-configurable full-color thin-film transistor (TFT) display are large and illuminated. Buttons for Uconnect and phone access now reside along the bottom edge of the horizontal spokes. Optional adaptive cruise control is configured by buttons that are symmetrically opposite on the right hand side of the wheel. As before, the highly praised audio controls are still found on the back of the upper spokes. This new tilt-telescoping steering wheel also has a 360-degree heat element.

To make cruises more pleasurable, the new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT features redesigned seats with improved cushioning and more comfortable contours. For improved comfort and convenience, new for 2015 are standard heated and ventilated front seats. The passenger seat also has an easy exit/entry function to provide access to the rear seat – this is controlled by a release handle on the top shoulder of the seat.

Challenger SRT offers performance seats with large side bolsters for maximum lateral support in hard cornering. The seats can be covered in Nappa leather/Alcantara material with embroidered SRT logos. Laguna premium leather, colored either sepia or black with embossed SRT logos, is available as part of an equipment package.

High-impact exterior colors

Many of the most memorable paint colors in automotive history have been found on the Challenger. The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT 392 and SRT with the HEMI Hellcat will be available in 11 exterior colors:  B5 Blue Pearl Coat, Billet Silver Metallic Clear Coat, Bright White Clear Coat, Granite Crystal Metallic Pearl Coat, Ivory White Tri-Coat Pearl, Jazz Blue Pearl Coat, Phantom Black Tri-Coat Pearl, Pitch Black Clear Coat, Redline Tri-Coat Pearl, Sublime Metallic Pearl Coat and TorRed Clear Coat.
